I’m going to take pics at a live concert. I will be in a pit maybe What lens should i use a 18-75mm or 75-300m? I will have a press past and be quite close to the stage i just want to take one lens so that i don’t have to carry a bag all night any suggestions? Thanks for the replies so far!!

mm wise the latter 75-300, how ever I would imagine this lens may be quite slow at the 300 end so try to stick to no more that 150mm in this lens. Most pros use a 70-200 f2.8 due to how wide its aperture is making it easy to take photographs hand held with out a flash. In your situation how ever I would recommend using a flash gun to help with focusing and depending on lighting to reduce your shutter speed. In a concert try to use the flash sparingly as it can be an irritant to those watching and performing.
BOTH. WHAT IF YOU WANT THE WHOLE STAGE ?
First, make sure the venue allows SLR cameras. Many venues do not allow them unless you have a press pass.
Second, the 75-300mm lens will probably give you the view you want, but as the first poster said, it’s probably too slow. Actually, both lenses are probably too slow. Make sure your ISO is at the highest possible and try to keep the lenses zoomed out (they’ll be faster). Don’t be surprised if you can’t get a non-blurry shot though.
Before you worry about which lens to use,be sure to find out if a camera will be allowed, and if so, if a DSLR is acceptable. Most concerts won’t allow cameras, and if they do, it would only be a point & shoot. So find out first, or your camera could be confiscated.
